Computer Cab has been the major provider of the Taxicard scheme for 20 years. Currently Computer Cab provide services to Taxicard holders in 32 London boroughs.
Taxicard is a method of providing subsidised door-to-door transport for people who have serious mobility or sight impairment and difficulty in using public transport.
The Public Carriage Office sets fares for journeys made by licensed taxis. The metered fare will be shown on the Taximeter at the end of the journey. Our licensed taxi drivers have undergone disability awareness training so will offer assistance to enter and exit the vehicle, to secure wheelchairs and passengers when necessary.
Computer Cab also provides the Taxicard scheme with the service of licensed Private Hire Vehicles (PHVs). Licensed Private Hire companies have to undergo the Passenger Assistant Training (PATS), which was developed by the Community Transport Association, before joining the Taxicard scheme. The use of licensed Private Hire has helped Computer Cab manage the continuous volume growth of the scheme.
